Richard P. Salloum was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. He attended the University of Notre Dame, and graduated from the University of Mississippi with at Bachelor of Business Administration. There he was an honor roll student and served as President of the Business School Student Body. He was also chosen to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Richard received his law degree from Tulane University in 1972.
Mr. Salloum is one of the founding partners of the firm and is a member of the Harrison County Bar Association, the Mississippi State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Additionally he is a member of the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
Mr. Salloum primarily practices admiralty defense including Jones Act, General Maritime Law, and Longshore and Harbor Worker’s Compensation Act litigation. He is also involved in products liability defense and general commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in all state and Federal courts in Mississippi, and before the Fifth Circuit and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Salloum and his wife Jan have one son, Jordan. They are members of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport. Mr. Salloum was chosen by the Bishop to serve on the Diocese Finance Council. He is involved in diverse professional activities, is a member or director of various civic and charitable organizations, and is on the Board of Directors of the Gulfport Yacht Club.
